Pixela Films History


Co-founders Jon and Tim met on what might be the most powerful, underrated 7th grade basketball all star team ever known in a small town in New Hampshire. They both warmed the bench with grace and comfort and had time to chat about their future.


After the NBA passed on what could have been, Jon and Tim regrouped and made Pixela’s first film No Quit, a motivational film about Tim’s father Tod that got picked up by ESPN.


Pixela’s feature length documentary Not a War Story premieres at Academy of Motion Pictures in LA and opens at #1 on iTunes Documentaries.


Pixela’s film Life WIthout Basketball confronted FIBA at the global sports and human rights forum in Geneva in an effort to overturn the Hijab ban. The rule was overturned allowing folks to play basketball with hijab.
